Day 12 - 7/2

Today was a very exciting, thrilling day! We woke up early and headed to Six Flags New England. This is the first of three Six Flags that we'll go to. We decided that we would stay in the rollercoaster area all day and not go to the water park. The first ride we went on was Bizzaro. This ride has been rated the number one steel coaster in the world for five years. It definitely lived up to that reputation. It takes one up about 209 feet and leads the passengers on about a three minute trip. Complete with two underground dips and many G forces, this is a coaster for those who love extreme rides. Other rides we went on were the Mind Eraser and Batman. Mind Eraser had many corkscrews and dips. By the end of the ride the part in my hair was nonexistent and everyone was rattled. Despite the minor jerkiness nature of the ride, it was fun to go on.  Batman had a loop and many turns. It also took your picture, so we naturally made weird faces every time. When I went with Mom, she was concerned about riding it. [Mom's comment: Not really].  We were about to get on it the second time, then there were some technical difficulties. This didn't exactly comfort Mom, but we still went on anyway.
The little girls loved the Kidzopolis area. Julia loved the boat ride where it would oscillate on top of the "water". There was a ride called Route 66 where one could drive a car on a track. I had fun pressing the gas while Emily steered. Lydia and Rachel enjoyed the plane ride where when you press a button the plane would fly up or down. Even though it got really hot and humid we still rode on rides anyway. In an attempt to cool off we went on one where a group gets in a circular raft and rides river rapids. During the ride there was a waterfall and I just happen to be under it when we passed by. I got completely drenched while Nathan escaped any water infiltrations. In the heat of splitting up into groups, we lost Rachel. We only discovered this about half an hour after we lost her. We found her in the lost and found place, coloring a picture. It was a great relief to everyone that she was okay. There were also character greetings. I finally got to achieve my lifelong dream of meeting Scooby-Doo. I love him so much. At the end of the day, we were tired, but we had a memory-filled day.
